Questions to contemplate

Life's journey is filled with deep questions that challenge our understanding of existence, purpose, and the universe.

How could something come from nothing?

The universe's existence puzzles human understanding—how could the vastness of space, the complexity of life, and the intricacies of matter arise from nothing? This leads to the logical conclusion that there must be an initial cause, an uncaused cause, that is beyond the constraints of time and space. This is God, the Necessary Being, the First, the Last, the Eternal, the Ever-Living, the Incomparable, who exists without a beginning or an end and is the source of everything else.

How could someone from 1,400 years ago predict future events?

The Prophet Muhammad’s (ﷺ) prophecies, spanning from the fall of empires to the intricate details of future societies, remain astonishingly accurate. How could someone living in the 7th century have knowledge of events far beyond their lifetime?
This evidences a connection to the Divine, a revelation from the Creator who is not bound by time. Such prophecies serve as signs for those seeking the truth, pointing towards a transcendent wisdom that guides humanity.

How can a book from over 1,400 years ago remain relevant and unaltered?

The Quran's preservation and relevance over centuries challenge the notion of a text bound by time. Unlike other ancient texts, the Quran has remained unchanged since its revelation, memorised and meticulously preserved by millions. Its teachings, encompassing law, society, morality, and science, continue to offer guidance that resonates with the complexities of modern life. This enduring relevance and the Quran’s challenge to humanity to find any error within it, points to its divine origin. The Quran’s consistency with modern scientific discoveries, which were unknown at the time of its revelation, further underscores its unique status as a message not from its time, but for all times, serving as a comprehensive guide for humanity.

Why is there a perfect order in the universe?

From the rotation of planets to the biological systems of living organisms, the universe operates in a harmonious order. Could all of this be a product of mere chance? The Quran invites us to reflect on the universe's precision as a sign of God’s wisdom and planning. This perfect order suggests the presence of an intelligent, purposeful Creator who designs and sustains all aspects of existence.

What explains the deep sense of right and wrong within us?

Every human being has an inherent sense of morality, an understanding of right and wrong that transcends cultural and societal norms. This moral compass, deeply embedded within us, aligns with the fitrah, our natural disposition towards truth and goodness. Islam teaches that this sense of morality is placed by God, guiding us towards justice, compassion, and harmony. It prompts the question: if not from a higher moral authority, where does this universal moral sense originate?
